Sample practice questions

Easy

1. Calculate the perimeter, in metres, of a rectangle with length 8 m and breadth 5 m, using P = 2(length + breadth).

Answer: 26 — P = 2(8 + 5) = 2 x 13 = 26 m.
Easy

2. A triangle has sides of length 4 m, 5 m and 6 m. Calculate its perimeter, in metres.

Answer: 15 — Perimeter of a triangle = sum of all three sides = 4 + 5 + 6 = 15 m.
Medium

3. Calculate the circumference, in metres, of a circle with a diameter of 14 m, using C = pi x diameter and pi approximately 22/7.

Answer: 44 — C = pi x diameter = (22/7) x 14 = 22 x 2 = 44 m.
